ISLAMABAD: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri on Saturday said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his sons and Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif have set a new precedent by appearing before the joint investigation team (JIT) investigating their offshore assets.

Sharif brothers will be in Adiala Jail soon, says Imran

Praising them for appearing before the JIT without any protocol and recording their statements, he said it was a history occasion that an elected and sitting prime minister had appeared before the court.

He said that the Sharif family believed in the process of accountability and were not involved in any corrupt practices, adding that their business matters were being highlighted in the media for no reason.

He said those levelling corruption allegations would not be able to find anything as “their allegations are shallow”, adding that by respecting judiciary, the political stature of the Sharif family had further increased.

He said the masses would reject false allegations levelled against the Sharif family in 2018 elections.

Fahad Adnan | 7 years ago | Reply At 32, I am still unable to understand how can people shift focus from the real issue (decades-old corruption) to the irrelevant one. How is appearing before a court a "precedent"? ... "Precedent" will be when this court issues a decision against the ruling government.
