Peshawar police get 'Command and Control Centre' with EU, UNDP help

PESHAWAR: Police Command and Control Centre (PCCC) at Central Police Office Peshawar was inaugurated on Wednesday.

The inauguration ceremony was jointly performed by Inspector General of Police Salahuddin Khan Mehsud and UNDP Regional Director Hoaliang Xu, said a press release.

For the speedy and effective response to the public disorder and security threats UNDP supported the establishment of Data Analysis Centre (DAC) at K-P Central Police Office funded by European Union, adds the press release.

The DAC consist of two halls of which, hall one is the operation room for quick collection, processing and dissemination of crime and public safety related data for informed decision making and hall two is the Command and Control Centre to monitor and deal with crises through secure real-time audio-visual communication with field commanders on mega-event security planning and operations.

Moreover, the Command and Control Centre has a situation room and a presentation theatre.

Moreover, the Situation Room is used as a conference room to monitor and deal with crises and to conduct secure communications with field commanders.   It is equipped with secure, advanced communications equipment, while the presentation theatre is used for debriefing purpose for the district and regional police officers on security planning and operations.
