The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) on Monday unanimously passed a resolution against the American attack on Libya and demanded that the Muslim ummah immediately act to guard Libya’s sovereignty and independence.
The resolution also demanded the Muslim ummah move the United Nations (UN) and disassociate from the international organisation if it does not respond to them.
The general house with president Asghar Ali Gill in the chair voted for the resolution which was tabled by Advocate Muhammad Sharif Chohan.
The resolution sought an emergency session of the UN General Assembly to discuss the US action in Libya. It said that the US and its allies had previously played a “dirty game” in Vietnam, Cambodia, Korea, Iraq, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Bosnia and Kosovo in the name of protecting people, while actually killing thousands of civilians to secure their interests.
The resolution denounced the attack on Libya as totally unwarranted and another black chapter in history. It said no UN approval was obtained before the action.
It said hundreds of Libyans had been killed in the air strikes by American and European forces.
Muslims all over the world, it said, were targets of America and its cronies. The resolution condemned American government for lying in the Davis case and described Davis as the ring leader of terrorists operating in Pakistan.
The resolution ended with a demand for American ‘agents and terrorists’ to immediately pull out of Libya and for ensuring Libya’s independence and integrity through UN Security Council action.
