Memorandum: Universities to work together

LAHORE: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and the University of Karachi (UoK), through its International Centre for Biological Sciences and HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry and Dr Panjwani Centre for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for collaboration in research and establishment of protocol to promote educational and academic exchange. The MoU was signed by Prof Muhammad Nawaz, the UVAS vice chancellor, and Prof Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, the UoK vice chancellor.

The MoU intends to bring the institutions together to work together in biochemistry and biotechnology, food and nutrition, pharmaceutical sciences, genomics and microbiology. The agreement also aims to engage both universities in conducting training leading to certificates, diplomas, Masters, PhD and post doctoral programmes. The agreement will remain valid for three years.
