Pakistan-Japan: Prime minister points to investors incentives

Focuses on increased private sector interaction.

Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani believes Pakistan offers a lucrative, business-friendly environment for foreign investors, and urged Japanese investors to benefit from the incentives.


Talking to outgoing Ambassador of Japan Chihiro Atsumi at the Prime Minister House, Gilani said there was vast potential of trade and investment between the two countries. He expressed confidence that relations between Pakistan and Japan in all fields, particularly economic, had the inherent capacity to acquire new heights.

He said that high-level visits and exchange of parliamentary delegations would help strengthen people-to-people relations that were indeed everlasting and formed the basis for meaningful political and economic ties. He said that government-to-government and people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Japan had helped build up a dependable partnership in various sectors. Gilani also expressed sympathy on behalf of the government and the public over the recent earthquake and tsunami in Japan, and extended support for the affected people.

The Ambassador of Japan appreciated the assistance and the extended support, and emphasised on increased interaction between private sector businessmen of the two countries.
