With the HomePod, macOS High Sierra, watchOS 4, iOS 11, and updated MacBooks and iMacs -- it's safe to say Apple had a good few days.

Most of the upcoming updates were unveiled at the conference but Apple kept a few covers hidden. One of them was the new “dark mode” in iOS 11.

The feature did make a cameo during the presentation with a slide labelled as "Redesigned Colour Invert" appearing.

Apple has always kept an inverted colours option, created for better visual accessibility but hasn’t focused much on how it is used.

All you need to know about Apple’s iOS11

Its primary purpose has been to create an option for people with brightness sensitivity or some colour blindness but with iOS 11, it extends the branch for a more generic usage.

Giving your phone less of a glow, it reduces the disturbance your phone light would otherwise cause in a dark room. It also doesn't invert colours in the same way.

In fact, there are two new modes Apple will offer: Smart Invert, the more intelligent option that leaves many colours the same, and not inverting layouts that are already dark.

The other option keeps the mode the same as the current grey-scale version.

We will know more when the iOS 11 update comes out globally for iPhone users but for now, it looks like Apple are set to make a number of changes to how the iPhone functions.
