Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in Russia on the third leg of his four nation tour of Europe.

Putin hosts Modi at Russia's economic showcase

Modi was the guest of honour at this year’s three-day Saint Petersburg Economic Forum and he also spent the day with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St Petersburg, no doubt discussing issues of mutual interest. Pictures of them hanging out, however, gave the internet something new to obsess over.

Moreover he is pleasing Putin with jokes to neuterlize him for new romance with Pakistan if any, so it looks a clever move. On the other hand Pakistan has no foreign minister to counter these circumstances.

Nima | 6 years ago | Reply Putin had a picture with Bush on a Times cover after the 911 as if they were lost lovers. Then Bush looked into his soul. It is another matter how it evolved from there in Georgia, South Ossetia, Crimea, the Oligarchs, Khodorkovsky and so on. Do not forget, Putin's elder brother died in WW2 and he is a man of strong memories and will.
