As football season draws to a close and the transfer window opens, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive regarding the biggest clubs and players.

Arsenal Mbappe bid rejected

French side AS Monaco have rejected Arsenal’s bid of £87million for their star striker Kylian Mbappe, Telegraph reported.

This is the third bid French champions rejected for their star man, which also included Real Madrid’s world-record bid of £105million for the 18-year-old.

Mbappe grabbed headlines all over the world with outstanding performances for Monaco last season, where he scored 24 goals and provided eight assists in just 41 appearances for the club.

Roma reject Liverpool £28million for Salah



Serie A club AS Roma have rejected £28million bid for Egypt winger Mohamed Salah, according to Sky Sports Italia.

The 24-year-old played a crucial rule in guiding Roma to a second-place finish in the league with 15 goals, and Giallorossi are demanding £40 million for the former Chelsea man.

However, the report further states that both club are still in talks and a deal cannot be ruled out in the near future.

Man City sign Monaco’s Mendy



English Premier League giants Manchester City have signed highly-rated AS Monaco’s left-back Benjamin Mendy, according to The Sun.

Mendy, who joined Monaco from Ligue 1 rivals Marseille last summer, is set to replace Gael Clichy who is on his way out of the club in a major clear out this summer.

According to the report, the French left-back cost City £39.8million, which takes their overall summer spending to over £120million, as they have already purchased Mendy’s former Monaco teammate Bernardo Silva for £43 million and Benfica goalkeeper Ederson Moraes for £34.7million.

United turn attention to Lacazette



After cooling their interest in Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann, Jose Mourinho has now turns his attention towards signing Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, Daily Mirror reported.

Lacazette’s future was left in limbo after Atletico’s transfer ban appeal was turned down by the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) on Thursday.

The news suggest that Mourinho, who was keen on signing  Griezmann, has now turned his attention towards the £50 million striker, who has already informed his club that he wants to move out of Parc Olympique Lyonnais.

The former Real Madrid boss believes that the 26-year-old, who scored 28 times for his club in 30 league matches last season will be a perfect replacement for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, whose career at the Old Trafford is seemed to be over after he sustaining knee injury in the Europa League match against Anderlecht, which ruled him out for at least six months.

Newcastle closing in on Chelsea’s starlet



Newly promoted Newcastle United are closing in on the loan signing of highly-rated Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, the Daily Mail reported.

The 19-year-old Camberwell -born striker, who scored 26 goals last season while on loan for Championship side Bristol City is being identified as a target from Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez, who wants to strengthen his striking force ahead of the next season.

The report further reveals that both Leicester City and Brighton and Hove Albion have also showed interest in the England U21 forward.

However, due to Benitez’s good relationship with the Chelsea’s hierarchy, it is looking more likely that Abraham will spend next season at St James’s Park.

Southampton demand £70million for Van Dijk



Premier League club Southampton has slapped a £70million price tag on their star center-back Virgil van Dijk, according to Daily Mirror.

The 25-year-old Dutch international has generated interest from a number of Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester City.

Van Dijk, who joined Saints from Scottish giants Celtic in 2015, has so far represented his club in 55 league matches, and played a crucial role in helping his team cementing top-half finish in both seasons.
