Petroleum prices: 2 protests against price hike

MULTAN: Traders and political activists protested against the hike in petroleum prices and blocked traffic for over four hours on Sunday morning. T

he protest was organised by a traders unit near the Press Club and was led by chairman Tariq Mahmood Malik, Akhtar Butt and Sultan Mahmood Malik.

The protesters demanded that the federal government withdraw its decision to increase petrol prices and provide relief to the people. A similar protest was staged at MDA Chowk by the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) youth wing.

Bilal Butt and Chaudhry Aslam Humayun led the protest and over a hundred people blocked the road for two hours. The protesters urged the government to withdraw its decision. “The PPP needs to stop touting the slogans of ZA Bhutto and actually do something to help the poor,” said Butt.
