The TCKP spokesperson on Monday said that the rest houses were handed over to GDA last week and that tourists had been advised to contact the authority from now onward for booking. She said that TCKP earned Rs15 million in a very short time after getting charge of and renovating these rest houses while keeping the expenditure to a minimum level.
The rest houses which have been handed over included Chief Secretary House, Inspection Banglow, Dak Banglow, Wandiya House, K-P House (Moon View, Murree), Shimla Cottage, Raees Khana, Secretariat Cottage and some others. She said that TCKP under the World Bank’s project of economic rehabilitation of K-P and Fata renovated all the rest houses to provide accommodation to the tourists and attracted many local and foreign tourists.
