LAHORE: The first ever center in Punjab to shelter women victims of violence was launched at Darul Falah Social Welfare Complex in Township on Friday.

The project was named as “Transitional Home for Women Victims of Violence (THW)” and was developed by the Punjab Commission on the Status of Women (PCSW) in collaboration with Social Welfare and Baitul Maal Department Punjab.

A fair chance: ‘Govt committed to women education’

PCSW Chairperson Fauzia Viqar told The Express Tribune that THW was a model project for other institutions to replicate. She added the purpose of the project was to shelter survivors of violent attacks and train them in such a way that they become independent and resettle in society.
