Students’ week: Colours of flowers, regional dresses, games at Arid varsity

More than 20 students participate in flower arrangement competition.

Regional dress, flower arrangement and video games competitions were organised at the third day of the annual students’ week at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University on Saturday.


The regional dress show featured 25 students from various departments in their traditional dresses. The aim of the event was to give students an opportunity to interact with other cultures and thus create an atmosphere of harmony and intercultural integration.

Saifullah, Maqbool Ahmad and Sadia got first position while Amna and Fahim got second and Maria stood third in the show.

More than 20 students participated in the flower arrangement competition. The competition was divided into two categories: dry and fresh flower arrangement. In the fresh flower arrangement Shalinee (student of agriculture faculty) came in first and Komal (student of veterinary faculty) stood second. In the dry flower arrangement, Sundas (student of agriculture faculty) got first position while Shumaila Ishaq (student of science faculty) came in second.

Muhammad Rashid stood first in the video games competition, while Kalimullah came in second.

The department of entomology exhibited diverse species of live and preserved insects including butterflies, moths, and beetles. Students of the department briefed visitors about both useful and harmful insects.
