The talented owner and jeweller behind Allure by MHT, speaks to us about the exquisite jewellery inside her vault

How and when did you become interested in jewellery?

I have always been inclined towards picking and wearing unique pieces of jewellery, however my current profession was quite unplanned. I knew of a karighar who went out of business when the gold prices hiked about four years ago. He was my go-to person for statement pendants set in alloy. My friends were often fascinated by the unique pieces of jewellery I would wear, and on their insistence, I finally started my business. I have never looked back since and of course, God has been very kind.

What are your favourite pieces of jewellery?

My absolute favourite is a pair of earrings set in rose-cut, American diamonds that we created for our formal collection last year. And of course, a diamond solitaire ring which is a gift from my husband is also my favourite.

Is there any piece you are emotionally attached to and why?

Share a story with us about how you acquired one of your favourite pieces:

My diamond and emerald earrings have been a little tough to acquire, as I had to request someone to get the emeralds from Zambia and set the earrings in India! It was quite a task.

Is there anything on your radar that you want to get in the future?

I have my eye and heart set on a vintage emerald ring that I recently saw at the jewellers. It is from the pre-partition era. So let’s see…
