Saving Expats’ Properties : OPC works on encroachment laws  

Laws related to land and property were being reviewed thoroughly.

LAHORE: As encroachment and illegal possession of properties owned by expats has been a pressing issue, the Anti-Qaza Group Sub Committee of Oversees Pakistanis Commission (OPC) started preparing recommendations for comprehensive, effective and meaningful reforms in land-related laws. The expected reforms are aimed at recovering those properties which have been illegally taken over.

OPC Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti, a member of the sub-committee, said the body had been formed by the Punjab chief minister. He said laws related to land and property were being reviewed thoroughly and necessary amendments to the Land Revenue Act, Illegal Dispossession Act and others would be recommended.
