Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qayyum Siddiqui, ex-chief of Pakistan Steel Mills, was charged with embezzling hundreds of thousands of rupees and misuse of authority in canteen tenders.
In his bail application, Siddiqui's counsel stated that the case against his client was established on political grounds. The application went on to state that Siddiqui should be granted bail since there was no witness.
However, the court rejected his bail application after hearing both parties' arguments.
