Understanding your body is the key to looking good and a trait found amongst all impeccably dressed fashionistas. While people shy away from talking about their bodies, these brave souls explain how they work their anatomies to their advantage

How would you describe your body type?

My body type would have to be pear-shaped.

Has your body type changed over the last five years?

Over the past five years my body has remained pretty consistent, but I have lost a lot of baby fat that I was carrying around ever since I was a teenager.

How has your style changed over the years?

I have always loved experimenting with my style but over time I’ve settled into silhouettes that flatter me and wear colours that I’m more comfortable with.

In your opinion what is your most troublesome area?

Like any pear-shaped woman, I’d say it’s my hips.

How do you dress your body according to your body type?

I generally wear boxy tops or clothes that cinch on my waist.

In your opinion what is the biggest mistake a person can make while dressing here?

Not keeping your body type in mind when dressing is the biggest mistake that is made often, everywhere!

Which silhouettes suit your body the most?

I would say long dresses, culottes, boxy tops, high-waisted pants and saris.

What is the one piece of clothing that you shy away from wearing and why?

Anything that shows too much leg – everything else works for me!
