MULTAN: Pakistan’s envoys to Uzbekistan and Mexico vowed to introduce Pakistani products, particularly Basmati rice and mangoes, and explore new buyers in the two countries.

Ambassador-designate of Pakistan to Uzbekistan Dr Irfan Yusuf Shami and ambassador-designate to Mexico Tasawar Khan said efforts will be made to explore the markets to help Pakistan increase exports.

The two officials were addressing members of the executive committee during a visit to the Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI).

Shami said many Pakistani products have potential in the Uzbek market, stressing that the business community should step up efforts to enhance export of these products. He said his embassy would try to organise an exhibition in the first week of September 2017 in Tashkent.

Also speaking on the occasion, Tasawar urged the private sector to focus on non-tradition products to increase exports to Mexico.
