SARGODHA: A court awarded death sentence to an accused for his involvement in a murder case in Sargodha on Tuesday. The judgment was announced by Additional District and Sessions Judge Saadat Hussain Malik.

The prosecution told the court that accused Malik Dad Awan, resident of Quaidabad, had gunned down his wife Samina over a family dispute in 2015.

Judgment announced: Convict gets death penalty, life term in triple murder case

The local police registered a case against the accused and presented the challan before the court. After hearing the arguments, the judge handed down death sentence to the accused along with a fine of Rs0.5 million as compensation money. The accused was sent to District Jail Khushab.

Earlier, Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Abubakkar Saddique awarded 25 years imprisonment to two murder convicts in a murder case within Cantonment police station.
