Petitioner Muhammad Akbar told the court the respondent tied the knot with his daughter some 22 years ago and the marriage resulted in five children.
He contended that the accused threw out the woman and the children from the house before marrying a second time. Akbar added his daughter and her children were living at his house where he was looking after them.
K-P slaps ban on dowry
The petitioner stated that when he and his daughter demanded maintenance costs for the children, the respondent was infuriated and refused. He added the husband sent unidentified people to his house some days ago and the hooligans ransacked the property before leaving with some essential daily use items. The father said he requested his son-in-law to return the stolen items and the dowry articles of his daughter, but all in vain.
He said even some local influential people tried to persuade the husband, but the man did not bother to listen. He believed the husband had sold the dowry articles of his daughter.
The petitioner said he was an old man looking after his daughter and her children. He said he approached the police station where the Sanda SHO did not bother to entertain him. He requested the court direct the officer to register an FIR.
