Reports of Madhuri Dixit calling up Sanjay Dutt to talk about his upcoming biopic have been circulating for a while now. Rumour has it that the Bollywood beauty actually requested him to delete her references in the film, considering they have had quite a past together.

Now, nearly a year after the news first came forth, Madhuri has finally commented on the matter, reported Yahoo! “For where I am today, this [the topic of Dutt] has become redundant. Life has come a long way since then. I don’t know where these reports are coming from. In any case, it doesn’t make a difference to me,” she said.

It was reported that Rajkumar Hirani – who is directing the biopic – did pay heed to her request and so, didn’t include her character in the film. After this, it was reported that Sonam Kapoor’s character in it was an amalgamation of Sanjay Dutt’s love interests of the past. It was also said that Karishma Tanna’s character is based on Madhuri.

Later on, when Madhuri was asked about her upcoming films and why she has been missing from the scene for so long, the Aaja Nachle star simply responded saying, “Soon.”

The actor recently turned entrepreneur by establishing her own dance academy. “I want to reach out to as many people as possible so that we can discover more talent. But the entrepreneur never takes over the artiste in me. I can compartmentalise well, switching between roles,” she added.

Taking a look back at her career, Madhuri said, “I worked hard and gave my best. I was fortunate to have worked with someone like Saroj Khan. Our pact was to make every dance look unique and not repetitive. Now, moviemaking is a different ball game. Commercial and art films belong in the same universe. It’s all about the right story, budget and target audience. I wish things were planned before. It would have made our jobs easier.”
