ISLAMABAD: With the temperature in the capital skyrocketing in the past few days, health experts on Friday advised the public to take precautions against heat stroke while venturing outdoors.

Those suffering from heatstroke may exhibit signs and symptoms such as high temperature but without sweating, while the skin becomes dry, hot and red beside leaving the patient feeling dizzy with a headache.

Dr Muhammad Nasim, a general health practitioner told APP that pupils of someone suffering from heatstroke become “pin-point” besides causing the patient to vomit.

Dr Aasim at the Punjab Institute of Social Security in Islamabad said that during the hot summer days, one should increase their water and liquid intake, take periodical cold showers apart from wearing light clothes to avoid receiving direct sunlight.
