DERA ISMAIL KHAN: At least 13 people, including a DSP, were killed in a blast in Dera Ismail Khan on Tuesday.

Fourteen others are reported to have been injured in the blast that is presumed to have targeted the Kalachi DSP's vehicle. Three policemen are among the injured. Initial reports suggest that four kilograms of explosives were used in the IED blast which were planted on a bicycle.

A woman and child are also reported to be among the dead. The injured have been shifted to the district Head Quarter hospital and the area has been cordoned off.

The security situation in the area of Dera Ismail Khan has always been volatile and there have been many incidents of sectarian violence in the past.
