Salty, sweet, acidic, and sometimes sour, falsa is a good source of Vitamin-C and is full of antioxidants. You can snack on falsas with some black salt or make some fresh juice which is possibly the most refreshing drink you can have in the summer; other than water of course.
Falsa pairs well with numerous other fruits and vegetables. You can elevate freshly made falsa juice by mixing it with some fresh apple and beetroot juice. Other fruits such as pears and watermelon also go well with falsa.
Falsa season is quite short, so the sooner you get your hands on some, the better. Here’s a simple falsa juice recipe that you can make additions to as you like:
Ingredients
Falsa – 1 cup
Rock salt/ Black salt – 1/4 tsp
Ground sugar – 2 tsp
Salt – ½ tsp
Chilled water - ½ cup
Method
Thoroughly wash and drain the falsa.
Soak in warm water for a few hours to retain flavour. (optional)
Blend the falsa along with the sugar, water and salt.
Strain and pour into a container.
At this point, falsa juice can be mixed with other freshly prepared juices to make an even more fortifying drink.
