MULTAN: Multan City Police Officer (CPO) Muhammad Ahsan Younis Sunday said police officers would hold open courts every week in churches to resolve people's issues.

Addressing an open court at St Mary's Church in Cantt area, the CPO said it was the top priority of the police to ensure foolproof security at places of worship.

Similarly, SP Gulgasht Shazia Sarwar, SP Cantt Mehroz Ali,all DSPs and SHOs also held open courts in churches of their respective areas.

Security of people from the minority group has long been a cause for concern.

In 2015, over a dozen people were killed and at least 70 injured when an extremist group carried out a deadly suicide attack in the Youhanabad area.

Later, up to 4,000 Christians took to the streets of Lahore and smashed vehicles.
