MUZAFFARABAD: Police on Thursday arrested seven people for allegedly promoting gambling in Muzaffarabad. According to the City police station SHO Rashid Habib, suspects were promoting ‘Zee gambling’ as a lottery, promising participants awards. “District administration had already banned all kinds of gambling and lotteries in the capital city. However, on a tip-off, we sealed the two shops in Madina market and arrested seven people involved in the gambling,” said Habib. The police official further said that gamblers were selling special cards of hidden numbers with the promise of cash and other awards. He added that they had confiscated these cards during their raid. The seven were subsequently booked.
