A former Russian colonel and defense ministry spokesperson has claimed Vladimir Putin is burying 'sleeper' nukes off the coast of America.

According to the Daily Mail, Viktor Baranetz said that during an event of war, these bombs would be detonated to cause a tsunami, which would wipe out the coastal US.

“Other moves designed to outfox the US are nuclear missiles, which can be steered in the air, meaning their trajectory cannot be calculated."

Baranetz said Russia is focused on “asymmetrical warfare” with America to ensure destruction of both countries in the event of an attack.

“Or, for example, the Americans are deploying their tanks, airplanes and special force battalions along the Russian border,” he added.

However, a Russian government spokesperson dismissed Baranetz’s claims, terming them as ‘strange’.
