PESHAWAR: Officials of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) removed two female passengers from an international flight at Bacha Khan International Airport Peshawar on Friday after it emerged the women had been nominated in an FIR lodged in Islamabad.

Passengers Haseena Bibi and Fauzia were removed from Qatar Airways flight QR-600, said an FIA official. A case had been registered against the women following a physical altercation with female FIA staffers at Benazir Bhutto International Airport Islamabad.

“They were leaving for Doha and then to Norway but since we have information that the passengers were nominated in an FIR and an inquiry is underway, we could not let them go,” a senior FIA official told The Express Tribune.

Videos of the scuffle went viral on social media earlier this week showing FIA female staffers beating up two women.

In an earlier interview Haseena told The Express Tribune that the staffers had been irked by her daughter Fauzia because she had asked them for toilet paper. Haseena said the FIA official had told Fauzia off and got angry when Fauzia asked her not to misbehave with passengers, leading to an altercation.

CCTV footage shows passengers misbehaving with FIA officials as controversy deepens

However, CCTV videos that emerged later showed the passengers misbehaving with the FIA officials instead.

Earlier this week, the FIA suspended the shift in charge upon the interior ministry’s orders and formed a committee to probe the incident.

There were some reports that one of the passengers beaten by a female FIA official suffered injuries and had to be rushed to the hospital. FIA however denied that its officials thrashed the passengers.

Haseena and Fauzia belong to Nowshera’s Saleh Khana area, also known as Chota London (mini London) because at least one person from almost every house in the entire village lives in England.

Good job FIA! I am an overseas Pakistani and fully support FIA stance. These people think they can get away with anything in Pakistan. If this was in Norway or the US they would’ve been jailed for this kind of behaviour with authorities.Recommend

I had been through Islamabad Airport many times and FIA people didn’t misbehave with me or my family. Never a single time. Their story seems very fake that an FIA lady got hyper by asking a toilet paper. Even an illiterate and common person wouldn’t do that. No possible

One of the CCTV footage is extremely shocking that how one of the lady passenger went behind the official counter and got into physical with a FIA official……I even a man wouldn’t do that and will try to resolve the matter with verbal talks if I am in extreme anger. But these ladies crossed the red lines.

How can one person, lady or lad, get personal with staff on duty. It is not possible and shouldn’t be tolerated at any cost. Media people like Rauf Klasra shows one sided picture which is totally wrong. Recommend

I 100% support the above comments. Good job by FAI. Atleast let them know that Pakistan is not a place where you can get away with everything. The female girl was very rude and arrogant with FAI staff. Recommend

It’s not the job of the FIA to provide Toilet papers. Clearly the women became physical. They should have been arrested immediately and not released before a bail.Recommend

Investigate first and punish the culprit.
Seems obvious that the passenger is aggressive and rude.
However no one has the right to physically assualt the other and intrude in personal space.Recommend

Indeed, this whole arrogance seems to be about Norwegian passport. They want to be treated as first class citizens in Pakistan even if they wash “Norwegian’s Toilets” in Norway. Recommend

A passenger with this kind of behavior would have been tasered and handcuffed in Europe or USA!! Due to heightened threat of terrorism, especially at the airports, even touching a law enforcement officer without consent is considered a hostile action and a crime! Recommend

After watching this CCTV footage, i cam to an end that always observe both sides of coin. The very first video shows that FIA staff was totally wrong and how can the behave like that to specially female ladies. But video clarify everything and FIA should took hard actions at the spot but they were just talking with ladies (salute for this) but at the end very good action taken by not letting them go abroad and furthermore they should be arrested now and let them know this is not a joke. These ladies were literally behaving much more like prostitutes and should be given a good lesson so next time no one can come to this extent in future.Recommend

@Retired: In the US or West such a disruptive passenger would be arrested – no questions asked but because she is some refugee in Norway, she expects special treatment! Why does she think she can attack staff and run behind the counter just because her asylum claim in Norway was accepted?Recommend

First up, while words like assault may sound really fancy in the head, you need to know when tomuse it. It would have been assaultbhd she randomly selected the women and started bashing them the way she did. However, the women committed a crime by hitting uniformed officers without being provoked and THAT is what would be assault. So despite being assaulted the FIA official showed massive restraint. You do realize that criminals get thrashed for their crimes in our country. That is the LAW. They simply took her in ( which by the way they has the authority to do). What the FIA officials did was very much within their rights and power as officers, now if it offends your sensibilities it, I doubt much can be done. Recommend

you want to be a part of civilized society, you need to first act civilized. What these women did and the garbage they said just made the world see them for the jaahil uncivilized lot they were. They had an issue with the FIA woman they should have dealt with it in a civilized way. Under NO circumstances will it be termed civilized to spit at another person let alone a uniformed official. And no matter where you go, nobody will agree that pulling and shoving another person is “civilized”. You want civil behaviour from others, learn to behave yourself-as simple as that. And please stop playing the “woman” card. It is the most exploited thing in our country. If nothing else, we go off saying oh women should not have been handled that way. Well women should not have behaved like roadside tramps, shouting and getting wild in public if they wanted respectful treatment. Recommend

The women originate from Pakistannd should know the culture of people attitudes . especially government officials They should be ashamed asking for toilet paper rather than water in frst place..but the other side the airport staff can are corrupt and puts a lot of people coming to Pakistan. .I heard a member of the family these ladies and even agrees that they should had got harder beating.and the shift should also be sacked for the sake if it.the is another member of the family that had got the antidote for these people.Recommend
