The rivalry between Pakistan and India is massive and whenever the two teams get on the pitch against each other, a billion and more hold their breaths in anticipation of a fiery encounter.

Tempers flare, trumpets blow, the war cry is heard as both sets of players get into war-mode.

While both teams might be sworn enemies on the pitch, they are quite friendly off it and have a lot of mutual respect for each other.

Shahid Afridi announces retirement from international cricket

This show of respect was made all the more evident when the Indian cricket team sent a heart-warming gift for all-rounder Shahid Afridi when one of Pakistan’s greatest ever players decided to retire from the sport.

In order to show their respect to the retiring all-rounder, they sent a shirt with ‘To Shahid Bhai, best wishes, always a pleasure playing against you’ scribbled in India captain Virat Kohli’s handwriting in addition to signatures from the entire Indian team.

Now isn’t that a gesture worth respecting?

In the present hate-filled and politically charged atmosphere,Virat Kohli’s gesture of civility and sportsmanship can only be described as” beautiful”.Virat is arguably one of the finest cricketers of all times.Shahid Afridi will value this memorable gesture as not merely a personal token but an expression of friendship from Team India.Recommend

Nice gesture. Should definitely be reciprocated accordingly. It’s unfortunate that the Indo-Pak relationship is strained, given that the people (mostly) have such warmth for each other. Recommend

Pl get the TATA HD Dish and see the filthy lies & propaganda against Pakistan on all Indian channels. Add to that the Indian terrorism on Pakistani soil that Raheel Sharif has given clear evudence of.
Its high time Pakistan adopts a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY for India.
