Tempers flare, trumpets blow, the war cry is heard as both sets of players get into war-mode.
While both teams might be sworn enemies on the pitch, they are quite friendly off it and have a lot of mutual respect for each other.
Shahid Afridi announces retirement from international cricket
This show of respect was made all the more evident when the Indian cricket team sent a heart-warming gift for all-rounder Shahid Afridi when one of Pakistan’s greatest ever players decided to retire from the sport.
In order to show their respect to the retiring all-rounder, they sent a shirt with ‘To Shahid Bhai, best wishes, always a pleasure playing against you’ scribbled in India captain Virat Kohli’s handwriting in addition to signatures from the entire Indian team.
