SIALKOT: At least five police constables of character certificate branch were suspended while a lady sub-inspector was demoted over misappropriation of funds in Sialkot on Monday. District Police Officer Dr Abid Khan took action against the said officials after conducting an inquiry.
Those suspended from service included Constables Muzaffar, Jawad Khan, Ayaz Ahmed, Shafqat and Zohaib, while Sub-Inspector Razia Sabir was demoted to the rank of assistant sub-inspector.
Meanwhile, police claimed to have arrested four drug peddlers and seized drugs from them. Sadr Pasrur police arrested Ali Raza from Ramkey and confiscated 1.4 kg charas from him. Similarly, City Daska police arrested Shehbaz and seized 1.225 kg hashish from his possession.
