The city police claimed to have unearthed the motivation behind the murder of two young Afghan nationals whose bodies were recovered from outside Defence Housing Authority-Phase IV on Friday.
The bullet riddled bodies of Ali Raza, 22, and Haboot Raza, 23, were found lying near Jeddah Town outside the gate of DHA. Later these were sent for autopsy to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences.
The family of the two Afghan nationals were traced back to Kabul and after being informed of the deaths, they are on their way to Islamabad.
The police claim they have traced the murderer. “A cell phone recovered from one of the deceased helped trace the perpetrators and we have begun carrying out raids for their arrests,” said a police official.
He said some people were questioned and information provided by them led the police to the actual planner of the murder. Habibullah, also an Afghan national, had an old enmity with the family of the two men.
The dispute had been settled by a jirga of elders from their respective areas, but Habibullah had not accepted the decision.
He had travelled to Pakistan for a job and settled here. He planned the murder of the two boys and trapped them with the help of his friends. “He called them to Pakistan with promises to send them abroad,” said a police official.
After arriving in Islamabad on March 23, 2011 they stayed in Crown City Hotel on Murree Road. Habibullah hired paid killers and had them murdered on the night of the 25th.
