Lawyers accused of manhandling Sarghoda resident

May 17, 2010

A brush of a shoulder with a lawyer at Sargodha District Court landed a man into trouble as he was allegedly manhandled, beaten and locked-up by the black-coats.

According to Imran, a resident of Sargodha District, the lawyers started beating him after he and Advocate Awais Cheema brushed shoulders in the crowded court. He was later locked up in the District Bar Room.

Secretary Sargodha District Bar Mohsin Sherazi reached the spot and got the victim released. Witnesses said a policeman deployed inside the court also took part in the beating.

But the Bar secretary said that Imran picked up a fight as he intimidated the Advocate after the accident. Police arrived and took Imran for a medical examination.
