Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa said the smooth conduct of census is a collective success of Pakistan Army and the ruling PML-N government.

“Smooth conduct of census is a collective success of army and the government,” he said during his visit to the Army Census Support Centre (Army CSC) established at Headquarters Army Air Defence Command in Rawalpindi, a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

“Army considers it a national commitment to positively contribute towards its successful accomplishment and census will be completed at all cost,” the chief of army staff added.

Gen Qamar was given a detailed briefing on support being extended to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) and progress of census so far, the army’s media wing said.

The army chief appreciated efforts of Army CSC and all involved for “the good job being done”.  He also paid rich tributes to the martyred soldiers and civil enumerators who laid their lives while performing their duties during the headcount.

Upon his arrival, the COAS was received by Chairman Army CSC Lt-Gen Zahid Latif Mirza.
