Tech giant Tesla unveiled its revolutionary solar tiles last year that the company designed to replace conventional roof tiles.

The new technology is aimed at households enabling them to make a seamless shift towards renewable energy.

However, the company also realises that not everyone will take the step to replace a perfectly fine roof for a new one and hence is now introducing its new line of solar panels that are designed to integrate with existing roof tops to provide solar energy.

Manufactured by Panasonic, the solar panels feature a relatively slick and unintrusive design without having any visible mounting hardware. This will allow users to have solar energy on their roof, without getting an eyesore that would come with conventional designs.

Speaking with Electrek, the company said that is expects to start production of the new solar panels at its Gigafactory 2 this summer and also use the product for all new residential projects the company expects to take in the future.

The solar modules are expected to come in 325-watt configuration which the company also claims exceeds industry standards for durability and lifespan.
