Muhammad Pervez, a resident of the Kaiyan village in the Jabori union council, told Shinkiari police that his wife, 21-year-old Kulsoom Bibi, had gone to her room on Thursday evening.

When she did not reemerge from the room for dinner around three hours later, Pervez said his family thought she had gone to sleep early.
Later, when they went to call her, they found her lying unconscious with a bottle of poisonous substance lying by her side, Pervez said.
She was immediately rushed to the Shinkiari Hospital where the doctors pronounced her as dead.
The woman’s father, however, believes Kulsoom’s in-laws of poisoning her and took her body for an autopsy at the King Abdullah Teaching Hospital.
He claimed that months after her marriage to Pervez three years ago, Kulsoom’s husband and in-laws started taunting her for failing to conceive a baby.

She was subjected to severe mental and physical torture because of which she would frequently come and stay at his place, he claimed.
In a complaint with Shinkiari police, Kulsoom’s father accused her in-laws of poisoning his daughter.
The police have started an inquiry based on his complaint.
