KARACHI:

The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) has rubbished reports that it was cancelling affiliation of some of its member associations.

There were suggestions that the PTF, was planning to cancel membership of the Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan senior tennis associations and the International Club of Davis Cupper.

However, PTF’s Vice-President Khalid Rehmani refuted the claims.

“We strongly refute the baseless report,” Rehmani told The Express Tribune. “We are working for the promotion of tennis and can’t afford to exclude any region.”

Rehmani said the PTF was happy with the performance of these associations.

National junior events planned

The PTF plans to hold four junior events this year.

“Players from all the provinces would be given travelling and daily allowances,”said Rehmani.

The PTF also plans to hold the All Pakistan National Ranking Championship in June to honour legendary player Khawaja Saeed Hai.
