Nawaz takes on PPP on home turf
Bhutto was executed on false murder charges and therefore the party wants the apex court to proceed with the reference, so as to correct history, he said. He was of the view that the reference is gathering dust.
Other party leaders, including Senator Aajiz Dhamrah, Waqar Mehdi, Sassui Palijo, Rubina Qaimkhani, and Syed Sardar Ali Shah, condemning the judicial murder of Bhutto, claimed that he was executed because he loved the people of Pakistan.
Referring to dictator General Ziaul Haq, the party leaders said he was wrong to think that the PPP would come to an end with Bhutto's execution. Time proved that the PPP was strengthened by the sacrifices of its leaders, they added.

Paying rich tribute to Bhutto, the party members said he not only gave the country a Constitution but also made Pakistan into an atomic power. Besides this, Bhutto also created political awareness among the people of Pakistan, they said, adding that Bhutto's 'alleged offences' led him to the gallows. The PPP leaders were of the opinion that after giving tremendous sacrifices, the party gained strength instead of becoming weak.
Earlier, while speaking to the media in Garhi Khuda Bux, Senate Chairperson Raza Rabbani said the Panama Case is still in the apex court and they are waiting for its verdict. Speaking about Bhutto's death, he said the reference is gathering dust in the court. Refusing to comment on the current political scenario, Rabbani said he will talk about politics when the general elections will be held in 2018.
