The PAC, which was created with the support of the US government, will be responsible for formulating the agriculture policy for the province. The commission will work with USAID’s Punjab Enabling Environment Project - a five-year and $15 million initiative aimed at improving the business environment in the livestock, dairy and horticulture sectors of Punjab.
Speaking on the occasion, Chen said that the potential for agricultural innovation in the region is enormous and waiting to be capitalised upon. “The constitution of the PAC and its efforts to formulate the agriculture policy for Punjab demonstrate how the provincial government provides a strategic direction for growth in this sector,” she said.
