Lawyers convene meeting

The meeting is being called on the request of the affected bar members, says DBA general secretary

OKARA: In a recent development, a requisition had been presented to the DBA office bearers to convene a general meeting of the bar to analyse all aspects of the incident. While speaking to The Express Tribune, the DBA general secretary said, “The meeting is being called on the request of the affected bar members.” He added the application would be taken up by DBA executive committee later at a proper time.

Meanwhile, the lawyers of the Dipalpur and Renala Khurd tehsil bars observed complete strike to show solidarity with the lawyers of the district. All courts remained closed while people who came for case hearings faced hardship.

On the occasion, the legal fraternity shouted slogans against the police for raiding the houses of lawyers unlawfully.

Earlier, four lawyers thrashed ASI Javad Aslam outside the court over a minor dispute.
