PESHAWAR: In an effort to bring the criminal justice system at par with that of other provinces, the records of all police stations in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa will be computerised and the Khan Raziq police station will be turned into a model police station.

Acting Inspector General of Police Akhtar Ali Shah stated this while talking to newsmen during his visit to the Khan Raziq police station in Qissa Khawani Bazaar on Saturday.

Shah said all the details of the computerisation of the police stations’ record had been finalised with the information technology department. He voiced hope that it would contribute towards better policing.

He said that it was unfortunate that the strength of policemen deployed at the Khan Raziq police station was the same as it was two decades ago.

More model police stations will be established in the province, according to him.  In the first phase, Khan Raziq police station would become a model police station in order to serve the people better.

He met the shopkeepers in the bazaar and urged the police to facilitate the general public in order to win their confidence and support.

Later, he paid a surprise visit to the office of Banamari deputy superintendent of police.

Shah checked the record and asked policemen to treat the complainants with kindness.
