MULTAN: Parents of slain model and social media celebrity Qandeel Baoloch have been forced to leave their house in Multan due to extreme poverty and financial crisis.

Fauzia Azeem alias Qandeel Baloch,26, who was murdered in July  last year, was the sole supporter of her parents and family. She was allegedly killed by her brother Waseem Baloch in the name of honour.

Mohammad Azeem said, “In view of the financial crisis, they have shifted to their parental home located in Shah Sadar Town in Dera Ghazi Khan.”

Four years back, Qandeel’s parents shifted to Multan from Dera Ghazi Khan when she bought a house on rent for them. The house was situated in Muzaffarabad, a town on Muzaffargarh-Multan Road.

Meanwhile, Qandeel’s parents said the life has become much more difficult without her as all the expenses of food, medicine and household were provided by Qandeel.

Earlier in July 2016, social media celebrity Qandeel Baloch was killed in the name of honour in Multan.

The 26-year-old, who was popular for posting risque videos and statements on Facebook, was killed by her brother.

Qandeel's brother Waseem had been threatening her to stop posting photos and videos on Facebook. Her brother fled after killing Qandeel, However, no marks of torture were found on her body.

Qandeel was in Multan for a week to visit her parents as her father had been unwell, and spent Eid with her family. Qandeel’s brother Waseem went to meet her at night and strangled her while she was sleeping.
