The official, asking anonymity, told The Express Tribune that some tribesmen dwelling on the main side of Kabul River Canal at Mosal Kor in Michni, have been asked by the political administration to vacate their homes under the collective responsibility clause of FCR till further orders.
He said it had been decided by a Jirga in Mohmand Agency that — in case of any act of terrorism in the area — the administration will have the authority to ban the houses and other infrastructure within 100 metres of the attack.

“Last Friday six suspected militants were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Mosal Kor, and the administration’s order is likely to be based on that act of terrorism,” he said. “It is not clear whether these houses will be demolished or a Jirga will decide their fate.”
A local tribesman said about 12 locals on the canal side had been vacated from their homes following the government’s order, while others are still awaiting further orders.
Under the collective responsibility clause of the FCR, the political administration, with the help of the local Jirga, has the authority to act against any tribesman who fails to maintain law and order in his respective area.
