After houses: Population count begins today

Commissioner urges citizens to extend maximum cooperation with the census staff.

LAHORE: The Punjab government has successfully completed its household survey under census 2017 while the head count will start today (Saturday). According to a statement issued on Friday, Lahore Deputy Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner visited different areas of the city including Raiwind, Jail Road, Ferozpur Road and asked the staff and citizens about problems. The commissioner, who remained in the field to monitor activities, urged citizens to extend maximum cooperation with the census staff. He added the data would later be used to distribute national resources and enable economic development of the country. The government has established divisional control rooms in eight divisions of Punjab while a special monitoring and control room has been set up for the successful completion of census.
