Ensuring Cooperation Banks urged to adopt friendly policies

Directed the finance secretary to address problems of banks with consultation of their representatives

GILGIT: The government will cooperate with all banks on the basis of its performance and people-friendly policies without any bias or discrimination, said Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman. Talking to representatives of banks serving in G-B, the chief minister urged them to introduce people-friendly policies as his government was ready to facilitate them without any discrimination. He directed the finance secretary to address problems of banks with consultation of their representatives and devise a clear and comprehensive deposits policy. In G-B, extension of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has been included in the agenda of GB Council. The minister said that all those banks having no regional offices would be bound to setup their regional offices in accordance with laws, rules and regulations of SBP.
