Massive crackdown: Authorities reclaim 87 acres from land grabbers in Bhakkar

MULTAN: District Administration Bhakkar with the help of Police has initiated a massive crackdown against land mafia in Chak Number 18-TDA in Sub District Darya Khan of District Bhakkar and retrieved 87 acres of government land worth 140 million rupees. The operation was monitored by Bhakkar Deputy Commissioner Syed Bilal Haider.

Assistant Commissioner Darya Khan Maqbool Aijaz told that the operation was initiated on the directives of Commissioner Syed
Bilal Haider.

The land has been handed over to agriculture department now, he added. He said that it was a joint operation conducted by Police, revenue administration and agriculture department.

He further said that land worth of 140 million rupees was under the control of land mafia since last 70 years.

Government has suffered the loss of 100 million rupees due the illegal control of land by land mafias.

He further said that illegal occupiers of this land had lost their case in 1995 in Lahore High Court but they were still occupying the land against the court orders.

The court has given its verdict in favor of agriculture department and now land has been reclaimed to the same department.
