Faisalabad admin to demolish 101 dangerous buildings

Municipal corporation directed to issue notices to owners

FAISALABAD: The Faisalabad district administration has decided to demolish 101 decrepit buildings in various areas of the city.

The Faisalabad Municipal Corporation (FMC) has been directed to issue notices to the owners of these buildings that have been declared dangerous for living.

This decision was taken during a meeting presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Shahid. The meeting was attended by representatives of the FMC, Faisalabad Development Authority, local governments and revenue departments.



The ADC asked the agencies concerned to issue notices to the owners of these old buildings in the light of the survey conducted by the FMC, FDA, LG and revenue authorities so as the process of demolition may be started.

The meeting also decided to issue a deadline of seven days to the owners of repairable buildings and one-month notices to the owners of building that must be demolished in any case owing to dangerous structural conditions.

Last year, 65 dangerous buildings were demolished in the city. This year, structures of 101 buildings have been found to be dangerous beyond repair.
