ISLAMABAD: A man was stabbed to death while two others were injured when a fight broke out over a parking dispute late on Friday night.

On Friday night, Hafiz Rashid, his brother Akmal and another local got into a dispute with five other locals near Jungle Hotel on Lehtrar Road over a seemingly innocuous parking dispute. The matter, however, quickly escalated and a brawl broke out.

During the brawl, police said Rashid, his brother and friend were attacked with knives leaving them injured. Rashid later succumbed to his injuries.

On Saturday, Koral police registered a murder case and booked five people, identified as Shahnawaz, Zahid, Saeed, Khanu, and Tasadduq. They added that the prime suspect in the case had been arrested.

Police added that all the suspects and the victims were locals and lived in the same locality.

Meanwhile, Rashid’s body was handed over to his family after a post-mortem examination was completed on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Sabzi Mandi police said they had recovered the body of a young man from the green belt along the IJP Road near Mandi Mor on Saturday.

Police said the deceased appeared to be a drug addict and suspect that he probably died due to an overdose.
