One piece, three ways: Esfir Jewels

We ask three fashionistas to put together an outfit using the same item from a designer’s collection

March 05, 2017

While trends fade, style remains eternal and one piece can be put together in many different ways. We ask three fashionistas to put together an outfit using the same item from a designer’s collection, according to their style and taste!

These Esfir Jewels earrings were inspired by Cinderella-like elements. It has a fairy-tale whimsicalness to it, with a focus on intricate detailing and luxe gems. It is from the brand’s ‘Minute To Midnight’ collection, which was part of the ‘Ever After’ series. It uses a mosaic, shell pearl and a sea foam crystal. The earrings are long and delicate with fine detailing along the back. The designer’s state: “If you look closely, it resembles an ornate hairbrush that was used in the era of fairy-tales.”

I went for an androgynous look to style my beautiful earrings by Esfir Jewels. I loved the pop of green in the earrings and wanted to pair it with another colour, without being too loud. I wore a black sweatshirt over a pale-pink button up and black cropped pants. I added nude, platform sneakers and a pale-pink sling bag to complete my outfit. Because my look was slightly boyish, I think the earrings added a feminine element, which was needed to strike a balance. My make-up was my basic, go-to beauty look comprising of clean skin, nude lips and some black eyeliner. My hair was roughly blow-dried. I would wear this ensemble everywhere and anywhere — from a lunch to a day out with my friends, to a fashion meeting, or even to a launch.

I decided to go for a day look that was soft and feminine. I wore a blush, sleeveless top with delicate embroidery, which I think complemented the intricacy of the earrings. I then wore
open-toed sandals and a pair of leggings that kept the look fresh and fuss-free. The make-up was day appropriate. I used a hint of pink on the cheeks with a nude lipstick. My hair was kept up in a bun to accentuate my Esfir earrings. I think this outfit would be perfect for a bridal shower or a brunch.

I love the way the earrings have been crafted so delicately, and to make them the highlight of my look I chose to go for a solid colour. I went for a very relatable, all-black look, by pairing a customised Ideas Pret kurta with a tulip shalwar and plain black heels. I don’t think I needed to try hard to make these earrings look different; the pop of green gives them an identity of their own. I kept the make-up fairly simple, with a thick, winged liner and a dab of rust for the lips. My hair was blow-dried into soft curls for a bit of bounce. I generally wear a lot of black, so I could easily wear this outfit to anything from a lunch to an evening dinner.
