Crime prevention: High-profile militant arrested in Swat

The official added that several First Information Reports were lodged against Adil Khan

SWAT: A high-profile militant linked with Taliban was arrested in Swat on Tuesday.

According to officials, the police following a tip-off, arrested a key militant identified as Adil Khan, a resident of the Sambat area of Matta tehsil in Swat.

“Adil Khan is a high-profile militant and maintains links allegedly with the banned outfit of Tehreek-e-Taliban Swat,” the official said, adding that the detained militant was involved in anti-state activates during insurgency in Swat.

The official added that several First Information Reports were lodged against Adil Khan with the Matta police station for carrying out attacks on law-enforcement agencies in 2008.

“The detained militant will be interrogated by the law-enforcement agencies in an undisclosed location to trace his accomplices.” the official added.
