QUETTA: The Inspector General, Frontier Corps, Major General Nadeem Anjum said that an educated generation could ensure the safe and bright future of any nation. Speaking at the Youth Convention in FC Public School Kharan, on Thursday, he asked misguided youths to abandon their armed struggle and join the mainstream to serve the nation with their talent and abilities.

General Nadeem said that peace was basic right of the people and security forces, including army, FC and police and levies were rendering great sacrifices for the restoration of peace and order and ensuring protection of their lives and property. He said that FC was not only playing role in providing security but was also fulfilling its responsibility in providing health and education facilities to the people of Balochistan.

Mass surrender: Up to 24 militants lay down weapons

On the occasion, at least eleven militants of different banned organisations have laid down their weapons, abandoning armed struggle. They handed over their arms to the Inspector General, Frontier Corps, Major General Nadeem Anjum in a ceremony.
